ToggleWHAT HAPPENED?
The Grosvenor Sport supercomputer has projected that the Blues, after a rollercoaster journey in the tournament, will emerge victorious against Fiorentina in a dramatic penalty shootout following a thrilling 3-3 draw in the Europa Conference League final. This victory would cement Chelsea's place in the record books, as they would become the first club to win every major European competition. With previous triumphs in the UEFA Champions League (2011-12, 2020-21), UEFA Europa League (2012-13, 2018-19), and UEFA Super Cup (1998, 2021), adding the Europa Conference League would complete their sweep of European silverware.

THE BIGGER PICTURE
The predictions by Grosvenor Sport’s supercomputer were made by simulating the entire Europa Conference League 1,000 times. The complex algorithm factored in team performances, league standings, and individual matches, providing a detailed analysis of each club's chances throughout the competition. The code tracks the position and progress of every team and calculates the likelihood of their finishing position in the tournament. According to the data generated, Chelsea are tipped to progress through the tournament, beating Real Betis in the semi-finals before going on to face Fiorentina in the final.

DID YOU KNOW?
Chelsea's journey to the Europa Conference League group stage was not without its challenges. Despite being favourites to qualify, the Blues were given a serious scare during their playoff second-leg clash with Swiss side Servette. After securing a 2-0 win at home in the first leg, Chelsea struggled in the return fixture and were beaten 2-1 by Servette. However, thanks to their aggregate score, they managed to scrape through to the league phase of the tournament.

WHAT NEXT FOR CHELSEA?
With the group stage draw now complete, Chelsea have discovered their opponents, and they certainly won’t have an easy path. The full draw for Chelsea’s group stage includes matches against Gent (H), Heidenheim (A), Astana (A), Shamrock Rovers (H), Panathinaikos (A), and Noah (H). However, the scare against Servette serves as a reminder that no European competition comes easy, and Chelsea will need to maintain focus and determination if they are to go all the way in this year's competition.
