It has been reported that Jason Sudeikis, who plays the title character and is a lead writer in the production, is ready to bring AFC Richmond back to the small screen. Season 3 of the award-winning comedy-drama came to a close in May 2023 and appeared to spell the end of Lasso’s adventures in English football.

Warner Bros are now said to have picked up options on three main characters – those played by Brett Goldstein (Roy Kent), Hannah Waddingham (Rebecca Welton) and Jeremy Swift (Leslie Higgins) – while Nick Mohammed (Nathan Shelley) has reacted to the news of a return and Temple has now got in on the act.

Temple was quizzed by on reprising her role as Keeley – a PR executive and Kent’s girlfriend – if Ted Lasso is brought back. She said: “I mean, I hope so, but I don't know yet. I just, I've heard that it sounds like it may be happening, so that's really exciting.”

WHAT NEXT?
Temple is not among those to have seen contract options already taken up, but Warner Bros are reportedly keen to have her involved. That would appear to represent another positive step towards Ted Lasso returning to Apple TV+ in the not too distant future.
