The playmaker went over Kroos' outstretched leg in the eighth minute of Spain's dramatic victory against Euro 2024 hosts Germany. The Barcelona midfielder was forced off and left the pitch in tears, likelyknowing his tournament was over. THE EXPLANATION
Sport.es report that Barcelona may be granted compensation should Pedri's injury be serious. The outlet notes that under the FIFA club protection programme rules, UEFA will have to pay Barcelona €20,548 (£17,390/$22,000) for every day that Pedri is injured beyond one month. With Pedri expected to be out of action for at least a month-and-a-half, Barcelona may earn a fair compensation package.

WHAT NEXT FOR PEDRI?
His time on the pitch may be over, but Pedri will not let that dampen his desire to be part of a successful European Championship side. If Spain beat France, and then win the final, the midfielder will be eligible for a winner's medal and his important role in their impressive group stage won't be forgotten.
